First, I will share my hesitancy, as normally, when a book is part of a series, a reader all too often struggles to “catch up” on whatever material was missed out in the first book before the second one still makes sense as a standalone read. I found this story from start to finish flowed exceptionally well, was action packed, kept me guessing, and I didn’t need to know what happened in Book 1 to simply enjoy reading it as a complete work in and of itself.
